Stripdown has begun, I have got the interior out, just the dash left to do and last weekend the engine and gearbox came out. I have ordered a rollover jig for the shell so I can save myself from trying to work on the car while it is on the ground. As I strip out I have been checking the condition of the metalwork, on the whole it is not bad, it will need quite a few panels changing but there is alot of good stuff there as well.
Engine bay now clear, new inner wings are ready for fitting here. Dashboard out and ready for a refurb. Rear wings showing a previous repair, not executed very well so I think new repair panels will be needed. Work started to remove the roof, currently the front is lose, I have no idea how the sides attach and I can't find the spot welds at the back edge.
Started the engine stripdown, when I took the carbs off I found a gel in one of the intakes. After removing the cylinder head I found more of this goo in one of the cylinders, as one carb supplies two pistons this must of started in the head and been pushed out towards the carb. The oil n the sump was a bit messy at the bottom but generaly in good order. Getting a mechanic friend to help before I strip the engine back any further.
