Started putting the backend together, fitted repair section of chassis rail and now ready for the new boot floor, then rear valance which should allow me to get the car mounted onto the rollover jig.
The floors are coming out slowly and with the exception of the sills the surrounding metal looks pretty strong.
And I finally moved the rear axle from underneath the car and started the stripdown, so far it looks good so am hoping a lick of new paint will cover it. It will need some new rubbers and clamps, and I am putting on new springs just to cover myself as they are not expensive.
Bad news on the engine front, it is repairable but at some cost, I have looked into alternatives and decided I will probably get the repairs done which will give me an engine I can trust.
Taking the last of the passenger side floor out moved on to other things, mainly I have started stripping the sills. Some good news is that the original inner sills were under a replacement part and the top half is in good condition, if I leave this in place the geometry of the shell should remain. I will be cutting the rusty bottom section of the inner sill and welding in a new part. Working on the sills leads to other parts so I am expecting big changes to be visible the next time I stop to take some pictures.
